We collaborate with rehabilitated youth, empowering them with pathways to earn a sustainable income and secure meaningful employment within the creative economy.

Our work takes a multi-sectoral approach, leveraging the power of arts and crafts to inspire both social and economic transformation. We are a vibrant community of over 100 established and emerging artists, all dedicated to driving this mission forward.

OUR TEAM

We are located along Lower Kabete Road, directly opposite the China Road and Bridge Corporation (C.R.B.C.) in Kabete Sub-County, Nairobi. Taa Arts is fully registered with the Department of Social Services, the Department of Performing Arts, and the Kenya Revenue Authority—meeting all legal requirements set by the Government of Kenya.

The Challenge…

Kenya’s youth are confronted with severe unemployment, a crisis that fuels poverty and drives many into harmful cycles of crime, substance abuse, and early pregnancies. According to the Children’s Services Department, ten state-run Rehabilitation Centers continue to receive young people who report committing their first offense at ages 12–15 (30%) and 16–19 (23%). Poverty remains the leading trigger, affecting 40% of these cases, while substance abuse contributes to 23%, deepening vulnerability well into adulthood.

This reality highlights an urgent need for sustainable, long-term solutions. Empowering young people with viable economic opportunities is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty, reducing recidivism, and nurturing a safer, more resilient society.
